Our Story

Third Line Health & Fitness was founded in 2018 by the husband and wife team of Christopher and Aneeka Ward. After working in each of their respective fields for nearly a decade, Chris as a Personal Trainer and Aneeka a Registered Physiotherapist & Meditation Facilitator, their vision for Third Line began to take shape after moving to their North Gower property in 2016.

The roots of Third Line Health & Fitness developed informally with impromptu outdoor workouts designed by Chris for the couple and their immediate friend circle. The revelation of how much more enjoyable exercise was when surrounded by nature and beautiful views birthed the concept of Third Line. They spent the following two years designing and building their dream facility on their residential property that would allow them to do the work they are so passionate about year round at a place they love.

Chris & Aneeka are excited to share all they love about their property with others; a location that feels like you’ve left the city when the reality is you’re still close. Exercising on the farm is not only good for your physical health but for your mental health as well. A trip to Third Line allows you to disconnect from the madness of life and reconnect with the beautiful simplicity of nature. You’ll work hard while you’re here and you’ll be doing in an environment with a view like no other.

Aneeka Bhalla (Ward)

Founder, B.Sc., M.ScPT, Registered Physiotherapist

Upon completion of her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Queens University in 2010, for 15 years, Aneeka has worked full-time as a Physiotherapist in private practice. Formerly an NCAA Division II collegiate athlete for the Southern Arkansas University women’s tennis team, Aneeka’s passion and empathy for her profession stem from personal experience of her own injuries and a desire to help others quickly and effectively.

Her treatment philosophy is that it’s easy to treat a symptom, but finding the true source of a problem is the challenge. She prides herself on her ability to uncover and thus accurately treat the root of a problem. Often, stubborn, persistent injuries are linked to older, previous injuries we may have forgotten about. Even though the conscious mind may forget about them, the body and its nervous system remembers. For instance, to treat knee dysfunction and pain, often the hip and ankle will need to be considered, and potentially even the opposite shoulder and neck. All humans have effectively the same anatomy, but we have all lived very different lives and accumulated a variety of injuries over our lifetimes.

In your session with Aneeka, you will get her full attention for the entire duration of your session. She does not use assistants or machines in her practice. Her treatment style is unique in that the majority of your treatment will be hands-on, manual therapy, with an emphasis of working with the fascial system.

If you are struggling with stubborn injuries, concussion/post-concussive symptoms, chronic/persistent pain or migraines and have felt historically minimal improvement with other modalities - her style of treatment is something for you to consider. You will know within 1-2 sessions if the treatment approach is right for you.

Aneeka is a strong believer in the importance of continuing education to ensure her patients receive the best quality of care. She has completed a variety of post-graduate courses in:

  • Manual Therapy

  • Functional Dry Needling Levels 1 & 2 (KinetaCore/EIM)

  • Craniosacral Therapy (Upledger)

  • Acupuncture (AFCI Level 1),

  • Therapeutic Taping (Athletic & K-Taping)

  • McKenzie Method

  • Concussion & Vestibular Rehabilitation

  • Rapid Neurofascial Reset (Upper Body & Lower Body in 2024, Core in 2025 ), is currently taking their Rapid4 & Autonomic Nervous System, Concussion & Trauma Courses. Learn about Rapid here.

She considers herself to be a lifelong learner and is continually researching new techniques to implement into her practice. Expect to see her rifling through various anatomical texts and books to explain what it is we are working in our sessions.
